Hi !!
It's Monsieur A !!

How are you guys doing ??

Agree or disagree : Governments should spend more money on research in the field of regeneration medicine.

Nowadays, we hear more and more about the new field of regenerative medicine. For the below three reasons, governments should spend more money on research in the field of regeneration medicine.
One reason is that this field offers the promise of cures for many kinds of deceases which at present are incurable. For those suffering from these deceases and their families, this kind of research offers great hope.
Another is that the field promises to solve many of the moral issues bound up with the present system of organ transplants. Regenerative medicine involves growing organs from stem cells in laboratories. If this become possible, the present need for donors would disappear. In particular, difficult decisions about when to declare a potential donor dead would not arise.
At present, regenerative medicine receives relatively little research funding from the government. However, without funding, the field is unlikely to realize its potential.
For all these reasons, I believe that it is very important that governments make a decision to spend more money on regenerative medical research.

TOPIC : Does the world need to promote the use of renewable energy ?

The need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels has become clearer and clearer. In my view, the world need to promote the use of renewable energy for the below three reasons.
At present, except in special circumstances, most renewable energy sources cost more than conventional fossil fuels or nuclear power. However, appropriate measures should be taken to replace the fossil fuel and nuclear power to renewable energy. It would help to avoid the thread of global warming.
The government should promote the use of renewable energy, because reserves of natural resources such as oil and coal will eventually ran out. In addition, the ever more extreme forms of mining and drilling being employed to get at scarce reserves of oil and gas are also doing great harm to the natural environment.
Finally, It would be better to invest more money for renewable energy, because the more governments invest, the chipper renewables will become. Once prices start falling, industry will naturally switch ti these more environmentally friendly forms of energy.
For these reasons, the world need to promote the use of renewable energy.

Hi !!

It's Monsieur A !!

How are you guys doing ??

Agree or disagree : Food shortages will be eliminated in the future.

Today, many people, especially, in many developing countries, suffer from food shortages. I agree, however, that food shortages will be eliminated in the future for below three reasons.
First of all, in many developed countries, people waste a lot of food. For example, some of them don't finish there dishes, and grocery stores therow away their marchandizes just after the expiration date. These people need to change their mind for those who cannot eat enough.
Thanks to recent developments in biotechnology, many new genetically modified crops have been developed. These are often disease-resistant and more productive. As a result, crop production is likely to grow.
Finally, since many countries are developing, one development associated with industrialization is the increasing efficiency of food production. As the population moves into cities for work, the farms left behind become more efficient.
For these reasons, I think that food shortages will be eliminated in the future. Nevertheless, we must think of others who are lack of foods and try to develop research in biotechnology.

Hi !

It' Monsieur A.

Agree or dis agree : Future generations will become more dependent on robots.

Robots has developed dramatically over the past few years. I think that future generations will become more dependent on robots.
The first point concerns the efficiency of using robots, robots can replace human beings doing simple works such as cashier, waitress, and even working at office. Good thing is that robots can work accurate than human beings and employer don't have to pay monthly salary. On the other hand, robots are expensive and high maintenance.
Another point against robots is that robots make up for labor shortage. As human beings come to live longer, robots will be more important than now.
Finally, since many companies try to develop robots industry, we will be able to buy robots much chipper. The price is important to easily buy, and it will bring a lot of money for companies.
For these reasons, future generations will come to depend heavily on robots. This, however, will lead to a better quality of life as people are freed from tedious or dangerous works.

Unit 1 社会
Does increasing longevity have a beneficial effect on society ?

During 20th century, the longevity of human beings drastically improved. Although it can be a good thing for individuals, it cannot be said to have a beneficial effect on society.
First of all, as the birthrate in many developed countries is decreasing, younger people should pay much more taxes for increasing elderly people. As a result, pensions system is nearing bankrupt.
Second of all, if people live longer, health care costs will be expensive. And then, society will have to take responcibility for the care. Also, caretaking is required for young generations.
Finally, owing to the number of elder people, our quality of life will declin. Because younger people must put a great strain on taxes.
In conclusion, increasing longevity cannot be said to have a positive impact on society. However, we should nevertheless make every effort to ensure that senior citizens have as good a life as possible.
